The Daughters Of Sara

(34 downloads)

In the book of I Peter a statement is made which may seem profound to many: “Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are.” This statement is made to those who were, are, and will be Christian women. It is this thought I’d like for us to explore this week.

Illegitimate

(35 downloads)

Download this episode (15 min)
To be without the love of a parent – to be orphaned or fatherless is scripturally pictured as unenviable. It’s often regarded as a life worthy of pity. (cf. Jas 1:27)

The Hebrew writer paints a similar picture of an illegitimate child.

Heb 12:8 – “But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.” (NKJV)

Illegitimate here refers to one who is neglected and rejected. The King James and others use the word “bastard.” There is, however, much more in question then just the concept of fathering a child or accepting chastening as a child, therefore, let’s consider this passage further this week.

Exodus Evidence

(42 downloads)

Recently a friend sent me an email that I found quite astounding. The email showed pictures of chariot artifacts found in a tributary to the Red Sea. Why is this significant, because it is the Red Sea, which the Bible tells us, Moses parted when fleeing from the Egyptian armies. (Exodus 14:21-30)

Come and learn more as we discuss the only evidence God wants you to be concerned about.

You Can Run But You Cannot Hide

A statement that has often been quoted throughout history is “You can run but you cannot hide.” Some attribute this statement to American boxer Joe Lewis who said prior to his bout with Billy Conn “You can try to escape from what you fear, but eventually you will have to face it.” (Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings, Random House, New York, 1996) However, God stated a similar sentiment well before this phrase came to be popularized. (Read Numbers 32:23)

“…your sin will find you out.”

What God is primarily saying is that, as far as sin goes, “You can run but you cannot hide.”

For our time together this week let’s look at the Bibles constant reinforcement of this principle.
